My friend Martha is someone who I really admire. She is someone who courageously faced bad times but still managed to emerge successful and never stopped chasing after her dreams. Martha's father was a general manager at a local department store when the global financial recession hit the whole world. All the businesses had to cut down on their expenses and had to work with the little profit that they were making. the local department store also had to make some cuts and her father was one of the few unfortunate ones who were laid off. Martha had the dream to go to the best law college in the whole country but now her family was surviving on unemployment benefits and college seemed a dream going far away from her reach. Martha is however one of the most determined people I have ever known. She realized that she still has a few years before she has to start applying for college tuitions. She was great with children. She took a part time job at a day care center and used to babysit the neighborhood children on request. she saved for her college tuition and got a part scholarship and acceptance at her desired college because of her grades. Now she is halfway through her college education and her way towards becoming the best lawyer of her city. Her future looks very bright and that would have never been possible if she had let go of her dream.
