My Favorite Pashmina Color Bar None

posted on 12 January 2012

It's about style and interest, no one can tell us why they like the specific color. Its just we like it because we like it, no reason, and if you ask me about my favorite pashmina color I would say red, white, or black depending on the day you ask me! It depends upon the outfit I wear for a specific occasion as to what my favorite will be for any given day. For me the colors have to be bright and should match our skin color there is no color which I don’t like but few colors I prefer when I compare all. Its not only just for pashminas but any kind of scarf goes well with a western outfit, especially for winter wear. I should say only for winter attire because it’s a known truth that no one likes to have a scarf hanging around their neck when they're sweating!

My Leather Bag, a Favorite of Mine

posted on 4 January 2012

My favorite ladies handbag is my black and is made of leather. It is a gift from my brother who bought it from Dubai during his office trip. I really like this bag not because it is a gift from my brother but also because it is a very nice and beautiful bag. Unlike other bags, it has many zips and portions in it. There is separate zip for mobile phone, one for money and one for documents. There are other small and large zippers also. It is very spacious from inside. The best thing about it is that it is well built. I make a rough use of it but it is neither torn nor shabby. When the bag is dirty I simply clean it with wet piece of cloth and it is shining again. I also use other bags matching with my clothes but this one is my most favorite. I feel sad if I think of losing this bag. I have tried a lot but am failed in searching a bag like this locally.

Who Destroyed My Favorite Childhood Shoes?

posted on 29 December 2011

I love eclectic fashion - from my hair accessories to my shoes. And on the latter item, I'd like to talk about footwear. One of the most popular cartoons of the 90s were the "teenage mutant ninja turtles” and I was just in love with them like any kids was, and every day I was shopping for any item that had any thing to do with them, from buttons to bags to pencils and so on, how ever my favorite was a pair of running shoes that had a picture of one of the characters on the bottom and I refused to wear the shoes ever because I was afraid that the pictures would be gone. One day as I was in a rush to go to school my mother forced me to wear the shoes, as I couldn’t find the other ones. I did put on the shoes and being the hyper active kid that I was I forgot all about it as soon as I step out of the door. The misery hit me when I came back home and realized what I had done. With fear I took a glimpse of the shoes and the fine picture of Leonardo was whipped out. I cried for a whole day and they had to but me new ones.

So Why Isn't the Kilt More Popular?

posted on 27 December 2011

A kilt is my idea of a necessary item in the wardrobe. In fact, I personally have four. They are comfortable, easy to wear and make for a more masculine style of fashion. My female friends are always going on about their boutique clothing ranges like Forever Unique - it makes me glad us guys have our own fashion domains too - the kilt being one of them, and with such an array of tartans too. My favourites are actually Scottish tartans related to my family and uniform requirements. There isn't a real need to go overboard with the look. Brogues, Jacobite shirt and fancy sporran are definitely optional. It is just as comfortable, and acceptable, to wear a kilt with ordinary shoes or boots and a t-shirt or football top. Also, there isn't a compulsory rule that states the wearer has to be 'regimental' underneath, though the answer to what is worn (the proper answer being "Nothing, it's all in perfect working order") can make the kilt wearer very popular. The choice of tartan is down to personal preference as is the style of sporran worn with it. The latter is more than fashion. There are no pockets in kilts!

Great Gifts for Anyone on Your List

posted on 22 December 2011

There are so many great gifts available for the people on your holiday shopping list. For the women in your life, you can buy a beautiful wooden picture frame filled with a picture of you and the person you're giving it to. You can buy a nice scarf, gloves or winter hat for those cold days. You can get a gift certificate for a manicure, pedicure or haircut, or even make some jewellery for them using jewellery making kits. For the men in your life, you can buy a leather catchall for their loose change, wallet, keys and watch. You can get a nice new tie or warm sweater. You can get a fun beer or wine-making kit. You can get a money clip, tie clip or cuff links. For anyone in your life, you can get a nice mug or tumbler along with a gift card to their favorite coffee shop. A nice pair of monogram slippers always goes over well. Chocolates are never a disappointment! Whatever you choose, as long as you put some care and thought into it, it will be well-received.

On Why Shoe Comfort Is Paramount to Me

posted on 30 November 2011

Shoes are quite important to me. In fact, I spent a lot of time shoe shops perusing the selection in front of me! This results from a motor vehicle accident I had when I was a younger man. This resulted in considerable damage to my right foot. The result is that for me, comfort is paramount. Style and fashion considerations mean little to me. My favorite pair of shoes then are those that have a flexible sole. Tennis shoes become a sound choice. Surprisingly, the cheaper ones tend to be better than the expensive ones. Boots, once my footwear of choice, are no longer available to me. I have also found success with the more business appropriate Dr. Scholl's line of shoes. While these are more expensive they are also more desirable for wear in an office environment. The addition of flexible insoles however does not seem to make much difference. For many people the choice of shoes is essentially an aesthetic consideration, for those of us with mobility issues, the problem becomes something more of a practical consideration. There would seem to be a market for more fashionable shoes that are flexible for the mobility challenged.

Designer Handbags are Simply the Best

posted on 29 November 2011

I love handbags - from gold clutch bags to big satchels. I can't go a day without using one. At times it takes me a while to decide which one I should take out. I have close to a hundred. I bought a large chest of drawers to store them. Most of my handbags are by designers such as Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo, Burberry, Guess, Vera Wang, Juicy Couture just to name a few of my favorites. I also have some other bags which were a fraction of the cost which look pretty trendy. Unfortunately I have had to buy my own handbags. I hope I actually receive a designer bag for Christmas. It would make me very happy. I think my favorite is Juicy Couture as the designs of the bags are fairly distinctive. I love taking expensive bags out with me on dates. Make me feel a million dollars. My last date was a little taken aback that I had spent close to two thousand dollars on a handbag. I hope he will think of me at Christmas and buy me a really expensive one.

Michael Jackson Is the Greatest of All Fancy Dress Costumes

posted on 29 November 2011

When it comes to fancy dress costumes, I intend to dress up as Michael Jackson for the fancy dress party which I have to attend in a couple of weeks. He was incredibly talented and was a beautiful person. I have all his albums and even his autograph while I will always treasure. I have been a huge fan of him ever since I was 10. His signature suits were really eccentric and I am trying to find one in a costume hire shop. I will need a black wig which is rather curly and will have to make my complexion reasonably fair. I intend to buy a fake nose just to make sure that I really do look like him at the party. I would like to practice doing the moonwalk as I think that was the best move of his. Maybe I could make an entry doing the moonwalk. I will have to invest in a great hat which looked like his that he wore in video clips.

That Little Black Dress, I Never Leave Home Without It

posted on 17 August 2010

My favorite women’s fashion is by far the seemingly-timeless, “little black dress” – a must have for any women, no matter what age, size or ethnicity. The reason this little gem is so popular is because it takes all the stress and guesswork out of getting dressed. Whether you are going to an informal dinner, cocktails at six or a special event, the “little black dress” always works. I also love the fact that it provides the flexibility of being able to “dress it up” or “dress it down” – by selecting a pair of string pearls, earrings, matching bag and pumps, you’re ready for a night out on the town or, by simply adding a pair of leather flats and a black hose, you’re all set for that weekly PTA meeting. In addition, you can also add another chic twist by pairing the dress with a colored shawl, jacket or silk scarf – it’s just never-ending what you can do with a “little black dress” – and that’s why you’ll always find one in my closet or accompanying me wherever I go. An accessory that works will with the LBD is the silver evening bag - they go very well together.

Waiting for Marriage is Sweeter than Marriage Itself!

posted on 14 August 2010

I cannot properly express how happy I felt, the day my husband proposed to me. In our community, fifteen years back, bride and groom were not allowed to meet each other before marriage. The groom would carefully browse through the local jeweller's diamond engagement rings for something special for his partner. All very traditional and romantic. I asked my father to get me a photograph of my fiancé. When he gave me the photo, I kept it inside a cover, I felt too shy to open it in front of him. I took it inside the bathroom to have a view. If I think of those feelings, it appears to be funny even now. My groom used to call me on the phone. No cell phones then, just landlines. The landline phone was kept in the hall. So, he used to give me a signal. Just giving a phone ring twice and calling after few minutes is our accepted code. Then I should come and attend the phone when nobody else was there. A week before my marriage, my mother found this out and forbade me to talk to him before the marriage. So perhaps you can see now how very thrilling it was to wait for the marriage. I told my husband, I could not wait any longer! For that he made fun of me saying, “Tear off two sheets of the calendar in that case.” - he had, and has, such a lovely way with words.
