Why Mr. Tim Robins is the Guy to Beat

posted on 25 January 2012 in Recreation and Hobbies

Carmen looks forward to Friday nights because her favorite TV show is on air at seven in the evening. She is excited to see Mr. Tim Robins who is an expert of so many things, including the so called sport psychology. Carmen is amazed not only by the guy's good looks but more so by his intelligence. The guy can talk so well, that he can actually make anyone believe whatever he says on TV. As such, it did not come as a surprise to Carmen and to the rest of Tim Robins' followers when he started getting lucrative endorsement deals. After all, the guy can sell anything - from food, household items, appliances, clothing line, toothpaste, soap, shampoo and the like. Name it, and Tim Robins can sell it! He has proven this many times this year and because of that he is undoubtedly one of the most in demand endorsers in the United States today. But more than his increasing wealth, what Carmen admires most in the guy is his humility despite all the successes he now enjoys.

Employment networks are some of the most helpful tools that one could use to build a lasting career and a self-sufficient future. This is especially true for people who are afflicted with a disability! With the help of employment networks, yo9u can easily find a good employer, despite the great competition.

But before jumping right into a certain network, you have to decide whether or not it really is reliable and if it can give you what you need. In order for you to find the right employment network, you have to ask yourself a few things.

For instance, ask yourself if the network works with people who have similar disabilities as you. Some networks have limitations on the kinds of disabilities they cater to, so you should find one that will really address your needs and concerns. You should also think about the credibility and openness of the network. Are they open about their credentials and experiences as a network? Father and Daughter Come to Terms with their Differences

I want to thank you, daddy for doing for me. I want you to know that even when we fight, not once did I doubt your love for me. I know that you are always after my welfare and I am grateful. I want you to know that even if I won't become a doctor like you, I will still work on making you proud of me. That is my main motivation, daddy - for you to be proud of me. It has always been you and me all these years, dad and now is not a good time to give up on each other. I hope you are not giving up on me, because I can assure you that I will always be behind you no matter what happens. Dad, I am serious about being a teacher, just like mom was. The mental training I have had in my one year in medical school won't go to waste because I can still use it when I pursue my passion. You don't know this but when mom was still around, we used to talk a lot about my dream of being a teacher and you should have seen how happy she was that I wanted to be like her.

Be careful how you use your electronic appliances

posted on 17 January 2012 in Home and Garden

I have always appreciated the existence of the electrical appliances because I have seen their worth and the much that I have been able to enjoy in using them. Work has now become much easier and saved time and energy that can be input in doing something else. But the risk comes in only when a user is not careful in its use. It requires total care and competence in using them because they can incur very serious accidents if not properly used. Frequent checking of their security is also important because the accidents may also be caused by those that are faulty. And it is for their risky state that electrical portable appliance testing is done on them so as to avoid the risks on time. And other than avoiding their risks, they can also be checked so that the user can keep enjoying them for long in doing repairs where possible. Therefore, as a user, the only sure way that you will keep enjoying their functioning is if you maintain the frequent inspection and testing of them for them to serve you even much longer.

UNDERSTANDING ACCIDENT AT WORK COMPENSATION

posted on 15 January 2012 in Uncategorised

Accident at work compensation is based on guidelines of process and legal assessment of the situation. Compensation settlements are paid out from the company’s insurance policy, which all employers are required to maintain. The groundwork for accident at work compensation is founded on the amount of negligence by the employer and the amount of pain or disruption to the employee’s lifestyle. Serious types of accidents involving illnesses, disease or even death are found to be acceptable with outcomes of higher levels of comprehension. When an employee loses wages due to a workplace accident compensation is received through the employer's company policy for the accident. Damages as a result of psychological mistreatment may also be cited as neglect if the employer failed to correct or response to unacceptable behavior in the workplace. Compensation may be rendered if the cause of the employee’s condition is proven to be related to the company’s environment.

Accident at work compensation can also be related to an injury associated with the work performed. The most common type of work related injuries are from falls, with sprains or breaks that may require rehabilitation to return to normal functions. If the break heales without future health problems accident at work compensation may be less in comparison to a longer timespans to heal enduring constant pain. The amount of suffering is directly related to the amount of compensation an employee or individual may be eligible to receive.

In today’s work environment, technology has brought with it enormous ability and accident at work compensation for employees doing repetitive body motions cause strained injuries. Some of these repetitive movements may include back and neck pains or problems or carpal tunnel. In these cases the employer could be held responsible for failing to prevent workplace injuries. Acute injuries can occur from another type of tasks at the workplace such as lifting. If employers fail to train employees or individuals on proper lifting methods or fails to provide adequate equipment to lift items, there could be grounds for neglect. Acute injuries may result in immediate pain and over time the injury could worsen.

Las Vegas: More than Just Gambling and Partying

posted on 14 January 2012 in Cars and Transport

The deserts of Las Vegas would be excellent for dirt motocross biking. I'd love to take a few motocross trailers out there and some friends and have a real burn out there. There are many mountains that you could climb and also some flat lands that would allow you to get to high speeds. The Las Vegas weather may be hot but you could always go in the winter time when it’s cooler. There best part would be the amazing shoals and sand dunes you could see. I have gone on many Las Vegas dirt bike trips with my friends. It is a nice place to go especially after some heavy nights of partying and gambling on the Las Vegas strip. I recommend going with at least three other people, pack lots of water due to the heat, and food. If you want to be adventurous you could bring some gear and a tent and camp in the dunes. Also bring your goggles because there are many sand storms when you ride which adds to the experience.

My Favorite Pashmina Color Bar None

posted on 12 January 2012 in Fashion

It's about style and interest, no one can tell us why they like the specific color. Its just we like it because we like it, no reason, and if you ask me about my favorite pashmina color I would say red, white, or black depending on the day you ask me! It depends upon the outfit I wear for a specific occasion as to what my favorite will be for any given day. For me the colors have to be bright and should match our skin color there is no color which I don’t like but few colors I prefer when I compare all. Its not only just for pashminas but any kind of scarf goes well with a western outfit, especially for winter wear. I should say only for winter attire because it’s a known truth that no one likes to have a scarf hanging around their neck when they're sweating!

Costs of an Injury

posted on 11 January 2012 in Uncategorised

If you have suffered an injury because of an accident that was not your fault, it could be worth you making an accident claim. A compensation claim can make a really big difference to you.

Many people feel like accident claims should not be allowed. They do not realise what it is like to be injured and how expensive it actually can be. The fact that you are out of work can be expensive enough, because many people are on a reduced pay or get no pay when they are sick. Then you may have extra costs because of the injury as well. The compensation can pay back these things as well as giving you a lump sum.

Do not let other people attitudes towards injury claims put you off making one. You are entitled to claim compensation and it is up to the judge to decide whether you should get some money. If they say you are entitled, then take it, you deserve it.

Most people who do not like injury claims do not understand how difficult it can be financially when you are injured. They do not know how it is when you have to take time off work and be on a lower pay level and still somehow have to feed your family. Ignore them or just keep things quiet and go ahead with a claim and see if you can get the financial help that you need. You do not need to tell anyone, it is unlikely that they will be able to find out and you will be able to get your life back on tract financially and your stress levels will be lowered as well. It could make a huge difference to you and your family and your quality of life.

My Leather Bag, a Favorite of Mine

posted on 4 January 2012 in Fashion

My favorite ladies handbag is my black and is made of leather. It is a gift from my brother who bought it from Dubai during his office trip. I really like this bag not because it is a gift from my brother but also because it is a very nice and beautiful bag. Unlike other bags, it has many zips and portions in it. There is separate zip for mobile phone, one for money and one for documents. There are other small and large zippers also. It is very spacious from inside. The best thing about it is that it is well built. I make a rough use of it but it is neither torn nor shabby. When the bag is dirty I simply clean it with wet piece of cloth and it is shining again. I also use other bags matching with my clothes but this one is my most favorite. I feel sad if I think of losing this bag. I have tried a lot but am failed in searching a bag like this locally.

About Those Beautiful Glass Demijohns I Love

posted on 4 January 2012 in Home and Garden

Throughout Europe it is still possible to find some beautiful examples of glass demijohns. The incredible diversity of shapes, sizes and colours are purely down to the fact they once carried many and varied liquids.

In the past, these hand-blown, glass containers were traditionally made in the same style as the English and European Onion Bottle. This process was to place an onion on the earth floor and blow molten glass through the glass-blowers pipe over the onion, creating an inverted base allowing the glass container to stand freely.

This would then be wrapped in fresh straw and then surrounded by a raffia or wicker basket. You can still see these covers intact to this day, but they are now becoming much rarer to find in perfect condition, as the raffia and wicker deteriorates over time. These have protected the glass demijohns over time which is why today the glass containers have often remained in great, unmarked condition and more importantly unbroken!

Expand Your Network and Meet Industry Colleagues

Linked in is a great website for professionals to get together and stay connected it's also very beneficial for new university graduates. It is simple to get your membership established and begin interacting with other members. If you want to find a design agency, web developer, artist, salesperson - whatever - it's as easy as typing in a few keywords. Many people get discovered from making connections on LinkedIn and being able to show your resume makes a huge difference. Also I like the fact that adults can get together and the younger generation is not present to be disruptive. It's a professional platform and I'm always impressed at the calibre of fellow members - there's certainly a high trust factor when someone introduces themselves to me on LinkedIn and they have a good resume with good recommendations too - in fact, I've never hired anyone on LinkedIn who has let me down.

Untidy Streets May be a Conduit to Spreading Diseases

posted on 31 December 2011 in Cars and Transport

I am a Muslim and cleanliness and neatness is something taught to us by our Holy Prophet. It is also recommended by the modern medical science. But most of the people limit this teaching to their personal as well as home tidiness. This is a common habit of laymen that they clean their homes and throw all the garbage in the streets. In this way they spread diseases and viruses and hence cause damage to themselves. With the use of road sweepers and taking responsibility for our own litter, we can keep the streets tidier.

Our streets are used by people’s access to public places and our homes, schools, mosques and markets. There is no use of keeping the houses clean if the streets are not tidy. Untidy streets are an obstruct in our children healthy upbringing. Usually children play in the streets. If the streets are untidy and chaotic, children may fell sick and be targets of severe viral attacks. If the streets are dirty, unwanted pets may make them their homes and spread insects and diseases and bacteria. Efforts should be made to create awareness about these issues and people should be motivated to keep the streets clean. Seminars should be conducted about this issue and there should be free circulation of information.

Some Creative Renovation Ideas for Changing My Home

posted on 31 December 2011 in Home and Garden

I have several projects in mind for my timber frame building house. Over the years, I've collected various ideas from magazines and home designer friends. First, I would love to expand the master bedroom and master bathroom, turning it into a master suite. My plan is to demolish one exterior wall, extending the room to create extra space and then inserting french doors, rather than a wall. This would also allow much more light into the bedroom area. The master bathroom could be renovated, with the addition of a deep, jacuzzi tub and his and her sinks in the vanity area. Second on my list for home changes is the enclosing of our home's lower deck. We have a deck that runs the length of the first floor of our home and by enclosing it with large window panels we would add yet another area of living space to our home. It would also bring an indoor/outdoor atmosphere to this part of our home, making it an ideal spot for relaxing in the after-work hours. Last on my list for home remodeling is to install a solarium off of the living room. A sun room makes such an enticing addition to any home and it would let much-needed light in and provide a warm, nurturing environment for my tropical orchid collection. These are the main home alterations I would make if I had the budget.

Sustainable Energy Supplies: the Future

posted on 30 December 2011 in Business and Finance

Sustainable energy supplies are those sources of energy which come from natural resources which are renewable such as sunlight, wind, water, tides etc. You'd be surprised how easy it is these days to switch to these types of energy. Take biomass for example - no matter where you are in the UK, you'll find a wood pellet supplier near you.

The production of electricity from renewable sources of energy is often criticized for being too dependable on the weather factor and thus, not very reliable. For example, a wind turbine wouldn't produce any electricity if there were no wind! However, this problem can be solved by placing a diversity of electricity sources in one area, which greatly contributes to the overall flexibility of the system. Also, there have been aesthetic concerns relating to some energy plants. Apparently, some people thought that placing wind farms near their homes would "ruin the scenery". Since the technology of producing electricity from renewable energy sources is still pretty new to us, energy plants that use this method generaly produce less than convention energy plants. Despite that, energy plants that use renewable energy sources have one major advantage! Pollution! While convention plants produce huge amounts of it and almost literally choke the people living near them, alternative fuel plants produce little to no pollution! Conclusion: Currently, it is not economical to use exclusively renewable energy sources, but in the future, with new technology, maybe we can produce enough energy without slowly killing our planet's ecosystem.

Who Destroyed My Favorite Childhood Shoes?

posted on 29 December 2011 in Fashion

I love eclectic fashion - from my hair accessories to my shoes. And on the latter item, I'd like to talk about footwear. One of the most popular cartoons of the 90s were the "teenage mutant ninja turtles” and I was just in love with them like any kids was, and every day I was shopping for any item that had any thing to do with them, from buttons to bags to pencils and so on, how ever my favorite was a pair of running shoes that had a picture of one of the characters on the bottom and I refused to wear the shoes ever because I was afraid that the pictures would be gone. One day as I was in a rush to go to school my mother forced me to wear the shoes, as I couldn’t find the other ones. I did put on the shoes and being the hyper active kid that I was I forgot all about it as soon as I step out of the door. The misery hit me when I came back home and realized what I had done. With fear I took a glimpse of the shoes and the fine picture of Leonardo was whipped out. I cried for a whole day and they had to but me new ones.

What I Bought This Year For Christmas!

posted on 29 December 2011 in Business and Finance

This year - unlike every other years - I bought gifts that are not really gifts. For my Niece Nora I purchased a trunk for $24.99 and went to a thrift store and bought all sorts of baubles and necklaces as well as dress up dresses that were marked down because they were old fashioned. A big bow and she is all set. I bought my dad a custom usb stick with his favourite soccer team logo on it.

My friend Renee hates to get store bought gifts so I made a big cupcake from a gift I got last year The Big Cupcake silicone form. Lots of fun and as seen on TV also. Then lastly for my daughter Caty, I bought a basket and filled it with $.99 items from the "Trial Aisle" at the local drugstore. Shampoo and lotions, shavers and cotton balls, cotton swabs and nail polish as well as nail polish remover. I even put in fragrances and candy. Caty will love it! What did you buy?
